Changing mindset on AI, now presenting on AI
I just learned about SchoolAI in June. I played with it a little bit and decided to show it to my principal who happened to be walking by the library where I was teaching summer school. Within two minutes she said, "This is awesome! You have to present this during our back-to-school PD". Yikes, I had just found it and I was going to present it. Okay? Here we go! So I have been spending the last few days playing with it, learning at much as I can and getting ready to introduce it to our staff next week. I have recently changed my mindset on AI. I used to think it was just one more thing I was going to have to monitor and keep my students from using to cheat in class. Now I think AI is an awesome resource that will provide opportunities to enhance their learning and engage them even further. SchoolAI seems to be a great place to start!

I used SchoolAI in my high school geology classroom a couple of times last school year to guide student research on fossil formation and to help students explore what happens to sunlight energy when it reaches Earth's atmosphere (reflection, absorption, scattering, etc.). He was able to comprehend the material a lot more easily this way.

Personalized learning connects to student passions
One benefit was the chatbot's ability to highlight which students struggled with certain laws. This real-time feedback helped me identify gaps in understanding that may have gone unnoticed during a regular class. Another benefit was how students naturally connected the science content to their personal interests like sports and hobbies. This made learning more relevant and personalized, sparking additional curiosity and encouraging them to apply Newton’s laws in areas they were passionate about.

IEPs and differentiation made effortless with SchoolAI
SchoolAI is a wonderful tool to get the ball rolling. For instance, while writing IEP goals for my students, I know exactly what goals my students need from knowing each student's present levels. However, sometimes I'm tired or spend too much time thinking how to word a particular goal. SchoolAI can write a wonderfully worded goal that I might just need to tweak a tad & then I'm finished. Another thought is because my students all have different goals and are performing at different levels, they all need differentiated instruction. With SchoolAI, I can print professional looking assignment instructions or print a worksheet in mere seconds. An example of this is when I needed 25 words with 2 syllables and included vowel teams. Snap and I had it. I can't wait to let my students try it this year, now that I feel more comfortable with using it and can foresee the student engagement factor!

Student-centered learning that drives results
Learners are now more actively involved in their education, learning at their own pace, which has increased both their confidence and engagement. They love the freedom to explore topics in a way that suits them best, and the instant feedback they get from the AI helps them correct mistakes as they go. This personalised learning approach has led to noticeable improvements in their understanding and performance. It’s almost like having a personal assistant in the classroom that makes marking faster and more accurate while helping to ensure learners are on the right track. Overall, SchoolAI has not only lightened my workload but also created a dynamic, learner-centered environment that empowers students to take control of their learning. The results have been overwhelmingly positive.

Creative test prep that inspires students
I've been making Spaces for my students before tests, so they can chat about what they know and ask questions in order to practice. To my delight, one of my students asked the AI to write a rap song about the subject, which it did. He then asked it to start writing a children's book about the subject at a 4th grade level. He was able to comprehend the material a lot more easily this way.

SchoolAI facilitates target group instruction
SchoolAI is wonderful for target group instruction. I can trust the AI to work with students when I can't.

Simplify complex rubrics with SchoolAI
I have always struggled with writing rubrics for projects. Students are working on creating a website and I needed a rubric. SchoolAI to the rescue, and now the students know what to include in the design of their website. Link to Rubric

Safe and seamless coding tutors with SchoolAI
I knew I wanted a safe tutor for my students where they could ask questions about the code and the projects, but I wasn’t sure how to go about it. I didn’t know I could connect my Space with the lessons at Free Code Camp. But it integrated perfectly. The Space knows and understands everything they are learning at Free Code Camp. This is the perfect union for my students.

As a librarian, I use SchoolAI for dynamic lesson assessments
Most people think Librarian’s don’t teach real lessons at my school, we have a curriculum that I enjoy teaching. As we completed our 2 foundational units, I created a space to assess if students understood Fiction and Non-Fiction fundamentals.

Creative learning spaces for literature
My favorite activity I have used so far is a space where students have to convince Asher from The Giver to leave with Jonas using their understanding of Asher’s character and motivations. Link to Space

From avoiding AI to now using SchoolAI
I have spent a few years avoiding the depth that is AI. School AI has made it so easy and FUN to dive right in. I am excited for this upcoming school year to be able to share this excitement with my students. I can not wait to integrate this into our everyday classroom learning as a tool! I have spent far too long dwelling in the negative that I didn't even take the time to consider how this can positively change the educational learning experience!

From research assistant to creative tutor
I absolutely love this and have used it to help students explore new TEKS, as a tutor, and as a research assistant to name a few. The research assistant is one of my absolute favorite spaces, but it's extremely hard to choose because I honestly love everything. I have used it for creative activity ideas, question generators for multi level review, and so much more.
