Trust & Safety

SchoolAI works with students. That shapes every product decision we make: what we build, what we won't build, and how we hold ourselves accountable.

Explore our principles, compliance certifications, privacy documentation, and impact evidence. We publish them because effective AI in education is built on public trust.

Our commitments to students, educators, and schools

SchoolAI builds AI for one of the most important environments there is: the classroom. Student safety comes before everything else. Dot, our AI learning assistant, will not create harmful content involving minors, will not act like a human friend, and will not put engagement ahead of a student's well-being.

We are honest about what AI can and can't do. Dot is designed to support learning, not to do the thinking for students. That means avoiding shortcuts that feel helpful but get in the way of real growth, and building toward student independence rather than reliance on AI. Every approach we use is grounded in learning science. Keeping students on the platform longer is not the goal.

We make product choices that don't always take the easy path. We don't use game mechanics to drive usage or push students to spend more time on screens. We don't use student data to build profiles, target ads, or serve any purpose outside of learning. We build for teachers, because AI in schools should help educators do their jobs better — not work around them.

Trust in Edtech has to come from actions, not promises. We share our principles openly, welcome scrutiny, and accept accountability when we fall short.

We invite parents, educators, researchers, and policymakers to engage with how we think, push back where we're wrong, and hold us to what we've said.
